GOP Precinct Delegates Convene

Last night, the Republican Precinct Delegates of Emmet County gathered at the District Courthouse to elect 9 Delegates to send to the MI GOP State Convention in Lansing. The convention takes place on Feb. 10-11, and this year’s theme is: “Fighting For Our Future: Building On Our Comeback.” While the ballots were being counted, the group listened attentively to State Rep. Lee Chatfield sharing about his new responsibilities as Speaker Pro Tempore and soon to be a daddy-of-five. Update: Lincoln Stanley Chatfield has arrived!

So … the ballots were counted; a fine group of engaged citizens are going down to Lansing. Delegates are Dennis Kelly, Karen Weedman, Jerome Weedman, Janet Szymanski, Geri Szymanski, Fred Simons, Alex Collias, Johnathon Klonowski, and Mike Sullivan. Alternates: Greg Somers, Jeff Sobonya, June Jackson, and Robert Igielski. ‘Artsy’ photo of the group which includes Rep. Chatfield.

Congratulations to the delegation! BTW: Robert I. (third from the left) is a political newcomer and student at North Central Michigan College. This will be his first state convention.

And here’s a couple of photos of the delegates doing pre-convention business. Say ‘hey’ to Gov. Snyder for us if you spot him on the convention floor at the Lansing Center.
