Young Suspends Senate Campaign

Justice Bob Young just released this statement about ending his bid to challenge U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI):

“This morning on the Frank Beckmann show I formally announced the suspension of my campaign to challenge Debbie Stabenow in 2018. The decision was dictated by political reality. While I enjoyed tremendous grassroots support from Party activists (I won every straw poll, including the Mackinac Leadership Conference poll), and I had a large volume of small donors, my campaign failed to attract enough support from the larger donors to hit important fundraising benchmarks. The goal was to replace Debbie Stabenow with a reliable conservative, not necessarily me. I remain committed to winning in November, and pledge to remain a conservative advocate for change in Washington.”

All the best to Mr. Young as he ponders his future; he’s a wonderful spokesperson for rule of law and conservative principles.

Former Chief Justice Declares Senate Run

Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice and Detroit native Bob Young, Jr. describes himself as a “conservative Republican.” The retired chief justice now wants to unseat U.S. Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow.

According to the Detroit News, Young says he voted for Trump, is against sanctuary cities, and wants to reform health care based on market-reform principles.

Quote: I am proud of America, and always have been, because of our country’s tradition of allowing everyday Americans to achieve their dreams.

Young is the second Republican to enter the senate race. Stay tuned!

Lena Epstein to Challenge Debbie Stabenow

A rising star in Michigan GOP politics, thirty-something Lena Epstein, whose family has deep roots in the automotive industry, is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Debbie Stabenow.

Here’s her platform:

  • I am a conservative.
  • I believe in the Constitution and will defend it against judicial activism by supporting the Rule of Law.
  • I believe in the 2nd amendment and will fight against any attempts to infringe on an individual’s right to bear arms.
  • I am a fiscal conservative who believes in reforming the tax code to spur job creation and economic growth.
  • I believe in strong immigration policies that defund sanctuary cities and support Building the Wall.
  • I am a staunch pro-Israel supporter and will implement policies to protect Israel and the American/Israeli relationship.
  • I believe in Equal Opportunity for all, especially in education choice, and will fight to improve our education system for all Americans.

Lena attended Harvard and was the state co-chair of the Trump for President campaign.

Here’s her website.

Update: Lena has dropped out of the US Senate race.  Instead, she is going to run for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
