Republican Michigan State Senator (and favorite of many of the conservative grassroots) Patrick Colbeck is a declared candidate for governor. Here’s his Facebook campaign page.

Colbeck recently appeared on the Sean Hannity radio show/podcast to discuss the Affordable Care Act. During the interview, Hannity actually gave his endorsement for “Colbeck for governor.”

The Michigan Daily summarizes his platform: “Number one principle is the government works for us, not the other way around. Number two, when we put forward solutions, they’re meant to the best interest of all our citizens, it’s not supposed to be a special … handout to a specific community. We have provisions in our constitution that specifically prohibit that, but some of the most prevalent bills that happen in our legislature right now are deliberately targeting specific communities — that’s not right. Last, tax increases should always be the last option, not the first option.”

Stay tuned. 2018 promises to be a very interesting political year in Michigan.
