Pensler Opposes Sanctuary Cities

Sandy Pensler, Grosse Pointe businessman, Harvard law grad, and a Republican, is campaigning against Debbie Stabenow for the U.S. Senate seat long held by the Michigan politician.

The candidate’s Facebook page recently featured this message: “In 2015, Kate Steinle was killed by a convicted felon illegal immigrant who had been released onto the street by the city of San Francisco instead of detained as requested by federal authorities. Shortly after that, Senator Debbie Stabenow refused to support ‘Kate’s Law’ to crack down on illegal immigrant felons. Now a San Francisco jury has acquitted her killer. Sandy Pensler thinks it’s time sanctuary cities enforced the law.”

Here’s Mr. Pensler’s campaign website.

Lena Epstein to Challenge Debbie Stabenow

A rising star in Michigan GOP politics, thirty-something Lena Epstein, whose family has deep roots in the automotive industry, is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Debbie Stabenow.

Here’s her platform:

  • I am a conservative.
  • I believe in the Constitution and will defend it against judicial activism by supporting the Rule of Law.
  • I believe in the 2nd amendment and will fight against any attempts to infringe on an individual’s right to bear arms.
  • I am a fiscal conservative who believes in reforming the tax code to spur job creation and economic growth.
  • I believe in strong immigration policies that defund sanctuary cities and support Building the Wall.
  • I am a staunch pro-Israel supporter and will implement policies to protect Israel and the American/Israeli relationship.
  • I believe in Equal Opportunity for all, especially in education choice, and will fight to improve our education system for all Americans.

Lena attended Harvard and was the state co-chair of the Trump for President campaign.

Here’s her website.

Update: Lena has dropped out of the US Senate race.  Instead, she is going to run for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
