Last night the ECRP hosted a well-received GOP candidates’ forum for the ladies and gentlemen who are running for Speaker of the House/Rep. Lee Chatfield’s seat and are eager to move, part-time, to Lansing. to represent a geographically-large, bodacious region. Six of the seven candidates for the 107th District MI House of Representatives race attended – Tana Baldwin, John Damoose, Sue Fisher, Terry Lamb, Damon Lieurance, and Kathy Twardy. (David Laughbaum did not make it.) This was the first time these candidates were in the same room at the same time together. An ECRP executive board sub-committee prepared ten questions, and Izzy Lyman acted as the evening’s emcee. The exchange was cordial, civil, informative, and interesting. Thank you to the candidates who participated (three drove from the UP!), as well as to their families who came to support them, as well as to the audience who was attentive and engaged. We wish everyone the best on August 4, 2020!
